Bahla Castle Oman
A World heritage site listed by UNESCO in 1988, Bahla Castle is located at Bahla in the regions of Ad-Dakhliyah in Oman. It is a monument for the ancient remaining of Oman and is symbol of Oman culture. It is a triangular shaped structure with its walls covering a long stretch of about 12 km enclosing the town of Bahla.
The prime structure of the castle is on the eastern corner at an elevated place. The castle has 132 watchtowers together with guardrooms. The major portions of the castle are dating back to pre Islamic period. Bahla castle has undergone many renovations during the past. It has been restored recently attracting many tourists.
