Oman Currency
The currency of Oman is rial. The currency has subdivisions into 1000 baisa. The present rial has its origin in the rial Saidi introduced in 1970. In 1973 Omain rial replaced the rial Saidi.
The rial is available in different denominations including 2, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100 baisa.. ¼ and ½ rial coins are also in circulation. Presently banknotes are available in denominations of 100 baiza, ¼, ½, 1, 5 and 10 rial. Oman currency board issues Rial Oman. Central bank of Oman issues rial currency notes of denominations 20 and 50 rial. Rial has a fixed exchange rate of 1 rial = 2.6008 dollars.
